Complete Additive Manufacturing Solution for Mass-Production Printed Electronics

Project Tinker focuses on additive manufacturing of RADAR and LiDAR sensor packages for self-driving cars. To enable such mass-production of printed electronics, PV Nano Cell developed a complete solution of Digital Conductive Inks, Printers and the Printing Process. Question 1: What drives you?
Fusing business & technology into strategy execution in order to create value for people. I’m fascinated with how technology can do good for mankind and therefore feel very lucky to do what I love: connect people and technology.

Best show in town! But seriously, digital conductive printing in mass-production is the enabler of the next generation of electronics everywhere. I will discuss how using a complete solution of digital inks, printers and the printing process enables mass-manufacturing using inkjet printing. Question 3: What emerging technologies/trends do you see as having the greatest potential in the short and long run?
Embedded Passive Components. The ability to inkjet print Resistors, Capacitors and Coils in between the PCB layers will absolutely disrupt the electronics industry.

Question 4: What kind of impact do you expect them to have?
Inkjet printing resistors, capacitors and coils in between the PCB layers will create a wealth of benefits including: improved performance, flexible electronics, thinner electronics and improved reliability with a much more affordable pricing.

Question 5: What are the barriers that might stand in the way?
First, engineers would need to be made aware of this new technology to start incorporating it in their designs, Second, it would take some time to scale and start produce in mass production. And third, as with all new technologies, the proof is in the pudding and therefore this technology would have to be thoroughly tested and qualified.
